The deal, in plain words.

These terms are an agreement between you and ThetaOS ("we", "us"), Seattle, Washington. By creating an account or using ThetaOS you accept them and our Privacy Policy.

1. Who can use ThetaOS

You must be at least 13. If you are under 18, you need a parent or guardian's permission to use a paid plan, and they accept these terms on your behalf. You are responsible for your account and for keeping your sign-in secure.

2. The service

ThetaOS connects to your school systems with credentials you provide, syncs your classes and assignments, records lectures you choose to record, plans your work, and runs an AI agent that answers and produces documents inside your own account. ThetaOS is read-only toward your school: it never submits work, posts, or writes anything back to a school system. What you download and submit is your action alone.

3. Your content and our license

Your content is yours: your chats, files, transcripts, synced school content, device files ThetaOS features read with your permission, and the documents ThetaOS generates for you. You grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, store, process, reproduce, and display that content in order to (a) run and provide the service, and (b) improve and develop our products and AI systems, including training the models and systems that power ThetaOS, as described in the Privacy Policy. You can opt out of (b) at any time as the Privacy Policy explains; the license for (a) lasts as long as your content is on the service.

You are responsible for having the rights to what you upload and connect, including the right to record a lecture at your institution and in your jurisdiction.

4. Schoolwork and academic integrity

ThetaOS produces drafts, explanations, plans, and study materials. Your school's academic-integrity rules are between you and your school: you are responsible for how you use anything ThetaOS makes, for reviewing it, and for what you submit. Grades, deadlines, and school records shown in ThetaOS are synced copies; the source of truth is your school system, and you should verify anything that matters.

5. Billing

Plans bill monthly or annually through Stripe. A trial requires a card and converts to a paid subscription unless cancelled before the trial ends. Annual plans bill once, up front. Each plan includes a monthly credit allowance; credits reset monthly and do not roll over. You can cancel anytime and keep access through the period you paid for; partial periods are not refunded except where the law requires. We may change prices with at least 30 days' notice, effective at your next renewal.

6. Acceptable use

Do not share accounts, resell access, scrape or attempt to reach other people's data, probe or overload the service, use ThetaOS to break the law, or abuse the credit system. Do not connect school accounts that are not yours. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms, and we may remove content that does.

7. Termination

You can delete your account in Settings at any time; deletion works as the Privacy Policy describes. We may suspend or terminate the service or your account for violation of these terms, risk to the service or other users, or if we discontinue ThetaOS, in which case we will give you reasonable notice to export your content.

8. Disclaimers

ThetaOS is provided as is, without warranties of any kind. AI output can be wrong; syncs can lag; deadlines shown here are copies. We do not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that any output is accurate or fit for a particular purpose.

9. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost grades, opportunities, profits, or data. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. Some places do not allow these limits, so they may not fully apply to you.

10. Disputes and governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Washington. Before filing anything, email us and give us 30 days to work it out. Disputes that cannot be resolved informally belong to the state or federal courts of King County, Washington, and each side waives a jury trial to the extent permitted.

11. Changes

We may update these terms as the product evolves. For material changes we will notify you in the product or by email before they take effect; continuing to use ThetaOS after that is acceptance.
